10. A girl with whom “Krishna Himself would fall in love”.

திருப்பாவை பாசுரம் 10
நோற்றுச் சுவர்க்கம் புகுகின்ற அம்மனாய்!
     மாற்றமும் தாராரோ வாசல் திறவாதார்
நாற்றத் துழாய் முடி நாராயணன் நம்மால்
     போற்றப் பறை தரும் புண்ணியனால் பண்டு ஒரு நாள்
கூற்றத்தின் வாய் வீழ்ந்த கும்பகருணனும்
     தோற்று முனக்கே பெருந்துயில்தான் தந்தானோ?
ஆற்ற அனந்தலுடையாய் அருங்கலமே
     தேற்றமாய் வந்து திற ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்!

நோற்று - நோன்பு நோற்று; கூற்றத்தின் - யமனுடைய;
ஆற்ற அனந்தல் - எல்லையற்ற சோம்பல்; அருங்கலம் - அரிய ஆபரணம் போன்றவள்;
தேற்றமாய் - கூந்தலையும் உடையையும் திருத்திக் கொண்டு;

Pasuram 10 - English Translation

You lady would fast until enter Heaven;
     If one wouldn't open entry, should she not speak?
Adorn'd fragrant basil crown, Narayana virtuous
     Bestows the desire on our prayer;
Of yore consigned Kumbakarna to death.
     Has that demon, lost in contest peak,
Handed the grand sleep over unto thee?
     Lazy to the core
     Thou shalt precious decor
     Trimmed and dressed, open the door;
     Listen and consider, our damsel.

Pasuram 10 - Tradución de español

¡Oh Chica que observa los votos yalcanza el cielo!
     No abres la puerta,
¿Por qué no respondes a nuestros llamamientos?
     El señor que lleva un sobrero fragrante de albahaca,
Cuya gloriacantamos año tras año,
     Que nos da servicio deseado por nuestros votos,
Que es la encarnación de la verdad,
     Que otorgó la pena de muerte a Kumbagarna, ¿has derrotado a Kumbakarnan,
Que por su turno te pasó su naturaleza somnolienta?;
¡Oh bella durmiente que está adornada con ornamentos brillantes!
Por favor ven y abre la puerta.

11. “If Krishna wants me, let Him fast to achieve me”.

கற்றுக் கறவைக் கணங்கள் பல கறந்து
     செற்றார் திறல் அழியச் சென்று செருச் செய்யும்
குற்ற மொன்றில்லாத கோவலர் தம் பொற்கொடியே
     புற்று அரவு அல்குல் புனமயிலே போதராய்
சுற்றத்துத் தோழிமார் எல்லோரும் வந்து நின்
     முற்றம் புகுந்து முகில் வண்ணன் பேர் பாட
சிற்றாதே பேசாதே செல்வப் பெண்டாட்டி நீ
     எற்றுக்கு உறங்கும் பொருள் ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்!

கற்றுக் கறவை - கன்று போல உள்ள இளம் பசுக்கள்;
செற்றார் - தகுதியற்ற முறையிலும் கர்வத்தினாலும் மோதுகின்ற எதிரிகள்; செரு - போர்;
புற்று அரவு அல்குல் - புற்றுக்குள் நுழையும் பாம்பின் குறுகிய பாகத்தைப் போன்ற இடை,
புனமயில் - காட்டு மயில்; சிற்றாது - அசைத்து கொடுக்காமல்; எற்றுக்கு - எதற்காக;
உறங்கும் பொருள் - உறங்கும் நோக்கம்;

Pasuram 11 - English Translation

Thou, daughter of a cowherd, who
     Sans a single guilt, milks many a milk-cow
Daunts arrogance, preempt stuns at its precincts;
     Thy girdle seems a serpent in pit;
Wild jungle peacock, start!
     All neighbour mates have arrived now
Entered thy courtyard in grace
     And sing the name of cloud colour'd yet
     Creeper gold! Unperturb'd and mute
     Drowsest thou; what for, our pet?
     Beloved bride, listen and consider, our damsel.

Pasuram 11 - Tradución de español

¡Oh Chica que manejay ordeña a las vacas y los terneros,
     Que destruye los enemigos en el campo de batalla,
Que es nacida en la tribu impecable Ayar y brilla como oro,
     Cuya cintura es como la capucha de una cobra!
¡Oh muchacha tan preciosa como un pavo real!
     Hemos venido cantando el elogio de Krishna que es de color azul,
Y hemos llegado a la entrada de tu palacio.
     ¡Oh chica a la que queremos! ¿Por qué estás tú todavía durmiendo
A pesar de nuestros cantos?
¿Para qué sirve este sueño? ¿Por qué estás tú interesada en dormir?
Levántate y sal.

12. A girl whose brother doing 'Kainkaryam' to
         Krishna is awakened.

கனைத்திளங் கற்றெருமை கன்றுக் கிறங்கி
     நினைத்து முலை வழியே நின்று பால் சோர
நனைத்து இல்லம் சேறாக்கும் நற்செல்வன் தங்காய்
     பனித்தலை வீழ நின் வாசல் கடை பற்றி
சினத்தினால் தென்னிலங்கைக் கோமானைச் செற்ற
     மனத்துக்கு இனியானைப் பாடவும் நீ வாய் திறவாய்
இனித்தான் எழுந்திராய் ஈதென்ன பேருறக்கம்
     அனைத்து இல்லத்தாரும் அறிந்து ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்

தென் இலங்கை - தெற்கு திசையிலுள்ள இலங்கை, அழகிய செல்வத்துடைய இலங்கை;

Pasuram 12 - English Translation

Young buffalo yearns for calf, mumbles;
     Milk dribbles from udder and home a mire wet;
Thou, sister of a fair and wealthy, with a snow hail
     Over the head, as we clench thy entrance
We pray Him the Delight of our mind,
     He by His wrath had let
The monarch of Lanka South trounced;
     Shalt arise now the very least
     What a grand sleep thou acquiesce
     Residents all aware and muse,
     Open thy mouth! Listen and consider, our damsel.

Pasuram 12 - Tradución de español

¡Oh hermana de una persona rica, cuya casa esta mojada de leche
     Que esta fluyendo continuamente de la ubre de una búfala que esta triste
Debido a la separación de sus terneros¡
     Hemos venido a tu casa tolerando el clima frio de Margali
Y estamos cantando los elogios del omnipotente,
     Que destruyó el rey de Lanka, Ravana
Como resultado del enojo generado por la separación de Sita;
     A pesar de nuestros himnos, ¿Por qué no estás despierta?
Y el barrio sabe ahora de tu sueño prolongado;
Por tanto, por lo menos despiértate ahora.
