திருப்பாவை பாசுரம் / Pasuram 28 - 30

28. The only virtue the girls possess for the claim is His birth
        among the cowherds.

திருப்பாவை பாசுரம் 28
கறவைகள் பின்சென்று கானம் சேர்ந்து உண்போம்
     அறிவொன்றும் இல்லாத ஆய்க்குலத்து உன்தன்னைப்
பிறவி பெருந்தனை புண்ணியம் யாம் உடையோம்
     குறைவொன்றும் இல்லாத கோவிந்தா, உன்தன்னோடு
உறவேல் நமக்கு இங்கு ஒழிக்க ஒழியாது
     அறியாத பிள்ளைகளோம் அன்பினால் உன்தன்னைச்
சிறுபேர் அழைத்தனவும் சீறி அருளாதே
     இறைவா! நீ தாராய் பறை ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்

கறவைகள் - பசுக்கள்; கானம் - காடு;
உன்தன்னோடு உறவேல் - உன்னுடன் உறவு கொண்டாடி, கூடி பழகாவிடில்;
நமக்கு ஒழிக்க ஒழியாது - உன்னாலும் எங்களாலும் நீக்க இயலாது, சிறுபேர் - சிறிய பெயரால்;

Pasuram 28 - English Translation

Milk-cows we would follow, reach the wood and eat,
     Amongst tribe pastoral, sans any intellect, Thou'rt born
This the only virtue we own; our acquaintance is a bond;
     The intimacy hither, could never be torn;
Oh! Govinda! Deficient in nothing!
     We girls ignorant and forlorn
Addressed Thee in unbecoming names;
     Let Thou not hiss! Lo! Master!
     Bless us, we in ardour
     Bestow on us our desire,
     Listen and consider, our damsel.

Pasuram 28 - Tradución de español

¡Oh Señor perfecto! Nosotros pertenecemos a la comunidad,
     Que apacienta sus vacas en el bosque y come en el mismo lugar;
Nosotros, en nuestra tribu Ayar le hemos adoptado,
     Y le hemos hecho uno de nosotros;
Aunque no poseamos intelecto suficiente, usted es inteligente;,
     No hemos sido bendecidos con ningún intelecto,
A pesar de esto, nadie pueda negar nuestra la relación eterna con usted;,
     Nosotras, chicas inocentes, por amor,
Nos hemos dirigido a usted con varios nombres sin respeto;,
     Por favor tenga paciencia con nosotras y bendíganos para que
                             cumplamos nuestros deseos.

29. The Cow girls plead to be born related to Him
         for many more births and their Passions be transformed.

சிற்றஞ் சிறு காலே வந்துன்னைச் சேவித்து உன்
     பொற்றாமரை அடியே போற்றும் பொருள் கேளாய்!
பெற்றம் மேய்த்து உண்ணும் குலத்தில் பிறந்து நீ
     குற்றேவல் எங்களை கொள்ளாமல் போகாது
இற்றைப் பறை கொள்வான் அன்று காண் கோவிந்தா!
     எற்றைக்கும் ஏழேழ் பிறவிக்கும் உன்தன்னோடு
உற்றோமே யாவோம் உனக்கே நாம் ஆட்செய்வோம்
     மற்றை நம் காமங்கள் மாற்று ஏல் ஓர் எம்பாவாய்

சிற்றஞ்சிறுகாலே - பொழுது விடிவதற்கு மிகவும் முன்னால்;
பொருள் - காரணம், பலன் என்னவென்றால்; பெற்றம் - பசுக்கள், கறவைகள்;
குற்றேவல் - உனக்கு பணிவிடை செய்ய, ஏவியதைச் செய்ய; இற்றை - இன்று;
பறை கொள்வான் அன்று - பறையைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்வதற்கு மட்டுமல்ல,
             உன் சன்மானத்தை மட்டும் அடைந்து போய் விடுவதற்கு அல்ல;
எற்றைக்கும் - என்றும், காலமுள்ள அளவும்; உற்றோமே - உறவு உடையவர்களே;
ஆட்செய்வோம் - அடிமை வேலை செய்வோம்; காமங்கள் - ஆசைகள்;

Pasuram 29 - English Translation

Erelong dawn we have come unto Thee, to entreat-
     All-hail, Thy foot lotus golden;
Thou shouldst hearken our motive!
     Born in a tribe to graze the pastoral and eat
Thou shalt not let go our menial service depriv'd
     Lo! Govinda! This day not the drum alone is gotten!
Forever seven and seven more births
     Related to Thy bond will we be near;
     Only unto Thee, we serve sincere
     Converse our passions to vanish;
     Listen and consider, our damsel.

¡Oh Señor! Levantándonos temprano por la mañana,
     Viniendo a tu palacio y cayéndonos rendida a sus pies del loto,
Le Pedimos solo un deseo;
     Por su nacimiento en nuestra tribu Ayar como Gopalan,
Por favor acepte nuestros servicios humildes realizados a usted;
     No hemos venido aquí solicitándole el instrumento “tambor”,
Tenemos una relación profunda con usted desde hace tiempo;
     Por favor convierta todos los deseos mundanos
                             en una devoción hacia usted
Y bendíganos a ser sus sirvientes eternos para siempre
    

30. Benefits of Tiruppavai recital and observance of the rituals.

வங்கக் கடல் கடைந்த மாதவனைக் கேசவனை
     திங்கள் திருமுகத்துச் சேயிழையார் சென்று இறைஞ்சி
அங்கு அப்பறை கொண்ட ஆற்றை அணிபுதுவைப்
     பைங்கமலத் தண்தெரியல் பட்டர் பிரான் கோதை சொன்ன
சங்கத் தமிழ் மாலை முப்பதும் தப்பாமே
     இங்கு இப்பரிசு உறைப்பார் ஈரிரண்டு மால் வரைத் தோள்
செங்கன் திருமுகத்துச் செல்வத் திருமாலால்
     எங்கும் திருவருள் பெற்று இன்புறுவர் எம்பாவாய்

வங்கம் - கப்பல், அலை, ஒரு தேசம், தகரம், ஈயம், வெள்ளி, பித்தளை, துத்தநாகம்;
ஆற்றை - வழியை, முறையை, வரலாற்றை; அணிபுதுவை - அழகிய ஸ்ரீ் வில்லிப்புத்தூர்;
தண்தெரியல் - குளிர்ந்த மாலையை உடைய;
சங்க - சங்கமாக, ஒருங்கே, கூட்டமாக அனுபவிக்கும்;
ஈரிரண்டு - நான்கு; மால் வரை - மலைகளைப் போல உள்ள;

Pasuram 30 - English Translation

Face a la gracious moon, the precious jewell'd,
     Entreating thence had obtained the desire
From Madhava Kesava who churned the ocean wavy;
     Whoever reminisces this legacy in thirty Tamil hymns
In commune, hither, in this manner with out fail;
     A lyrical wreath of Godai -Her sire
Bhattar Piran of Anipuduvai, decorated with fine
                             lotus 'n' glory crown'd;
     Shall beget the blessings of wealthy Tirumal
     Whose arm quadruplet, alike a mountain tall,
     Eye bright aglow, with face gracious on call,
     And shall remain delight'd, be wherev'r our damsel.

¡Oh Maestro de los devas, los que batieron el océano de leche!,
     ¡Oh Señor cuya cara brilla como una luna hermosa,
Que está adornado con ornamentos preciosos!
     La tribu Ayar le ofrece su oración y adoración;
Los que recitaran los 30 himnos de Tirupavai
     Compuestos por Andal , la que lleva guirnalda de flor loto fresco,
Y quien es la Hija de Periazhwar,
     Recibirían las bendiciones del señor,
Que tiene hermosos ojos rojos y
     Hombros tan poderosos como una montana;
Por tanto los que recitaran, disfrutarían la felicidad eterna.
